The two versions of “or”
The word “or” in Spanish has two versions: “o” and “u.” We should always use “o” unless the next word that follows starts with that sound, then we have to change it to an “u,” for example:
Hay tres o cuatro pajaritos en el árbol
Hay siete u ocho pajaritos en el árbol
